Color2Hatch: conversion of color to hatching for low-cost printing

Abstract In this paper, we propose Color2Hatch, a decolorization method for business/presentation graphics. each region represented as closed path and uniformly colored in scalable vector graphics (SVG) is converted to hatched black white. From the characteristics of business graphics, hatching patterns are designed represent mainly hue region; additionally, lightness saturation can also be reflected. To discriminate subtle differences between colors, attached short line segments, zigzag lines, wave lines used by analogy clock. Compared with existing methods, example, grayscale conversion texturing, our superior discrimination regions, suitable low-cost white printing that meets real-world needs.
